A collab between Tizz & Tonic x Adam Macciocchi-Lancia

Some collaborations take months of planning. This one took two summer days in Bremen.

I met Adam through mutual friends travelling through Europe who stopped in Bremen for 48 hours. I showed them the city the way I know it. Slow river mornings. Long golden evenings. People stretched out in the sun with nowhere else to be which, in Bremen in summer, is exactly how it's done.

Adam kept saying it felt like being inside a painting. The light. All of the different scenarios playing out. The way people just existed in it. That’s very him.

Adam Lancia is a Toronto-based contemporary artist, a city I lived in before moving to Bremen and starting Tizz & Tonic. His work is shaped by his visual impairment and known for its bold forms, strong contrast, and fearless use of colour. Bright, graphic, playful but never chaotic. Every painting he creates makes you do a triple-take because you discover something new every single time (seriously, there is a lot of detail in each and every piece.) His work has been exhibited internationally and featured in publications spotlighting emerging contemporary artists.

Somewhere between bikes, beers, and that Bremen light, we said we should make something together. Not a big drop. Just something small.

The Cheeky Heart Patch is exactly that. A tiny sew-on heart… with a little booty. Adam’s bold graphic language meets the slightly irreverent tone of Tizz & Tonic. The humor lives in that overlap. The result is simple, clean, and just cheeky enough.

Stitch it onto a jacket, a tote, or something you’ve already worn for years. Some people won’t notice. The observant ones will -  and when they do, they’ll probably get a kick out of it.

On the back of the card it says:

“That happy bounce in your chest? Yeah… that’s just your heart throwin’ some ass.”

That line captures the whole project. It’s playful, yes. But it’s also about feeling alive. That bounce. That spark. That little thing that reminds you not to take yourself too seriously.

This patch is an ode to good times and a melding of creative worlds. The result? A heart that refuses to behave.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT:

Adam Macciocchi-Lancia is a contemporary artist and illustrator from Toronto, Canada whose work blends graphic playfulness with emotional depth. As a visually impaired artist, he leans into bold forms, texture, and strong contrast. His pieces feel immediate, tactile, and full of personality.

His work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and beyond, and featured in publications spotlighting emerging contemporary artists. As his recognition grows, one thing stays constant: his love of bright, bold colour. Something we at Tizz & Tonic obviously appreciate.

You should definitely take a moment to check out his work here!
