Meet The Makers
Tizz & Tonic is a women owned and operated business. We’re a dynamic team of four, each stemming from an international background which brings a particularly colourful twist to our working environment.
Tizz & Tonic was founded by Imke & Yanna - a sister-duo, born and raised by artistic parents in the small vibrant town of Elora, Ontario in Canada.
Meet Imke. Age 29.
Co-Founder of Tizz & Tonic / Head Designer / Lead Seamstress & the voice behind our social media and marketing
Imke is a graduate of George Brown’s Fashion Technique and Design Program in Toronto, Canada. Before launching Tizz & Tonic in 2017 out of her flat in Bremen, she showcased two lingerie collections on the runway at Toronto’s Alternative Fashion Week and has had experience operating her first brand (Johnnywishes) as a teenager in Southern Ontario.
Imke is the creative power behind Tizz & Tonic’s overall aesthetic and is the lead designer behind the styles and seasonal collections. She works daily on the production floor with the rest of the team while managing the social media and marketing.
Meet Yanna. Age 31.
Co-Founder of Tizz & Tonic / Supply Chain Management / Team Production Manager
Yanna is a graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. With her focus and drive on sustainable living and production, she brings the ‘green’ flair to Tizz & Tonic, making sure that the brand ethos are inline with positive production and that Tizz impacts the environment as little as possible. Yanna takes care of many aspects of the brand but is largely responsible for sourcing all of the plant-based fabrics, fabric cutting as well as managing the production team.
Yanna is the analytical mind behind Tizz & Tonic’s. She works daily on the strategic, tactical, and operational levels of the company while dreaming of future and past travel adventures.

Patrycja is the freshest face on the team, joining recently just this past Spring. Born and raised in Poland, Patrycja moved to Germany in her teens, is a young mom of two and is currently finishing her studies at the Deutsche Pop Academy for Fashion Design. Patrycja is a welcomed part of the production team, sewing undies and bralettes with much enthusiasm and many cups of coffee.
Hey, I'm Imke.
I’m the lead designer and creative director of Tizz & Tonic. I've been working in clothing construction for half my life, launching my first successful e-commerce brand at a young and ambitious age of 15 and showcasing two collections at Toronto's Alternative Fashion Week. I’m an Alumni of George Brown College where I completed my studies in Fashion Techniques and Design in Toronto, Canada.
My design style is creating beauty in eye-catching but simple ways- I appreciate looks that are elevated and joyful but not overly complex which is why you'll notice the aesthetic of Tizz & Tonic to be just that - bold basics with a twist.
Hey, I'm Yanna.
I guess I am the non-fashionista on the Tizz & Tonic Team.
My contribution to the brand has a big focus on sustainability. My educational background is a bachelor's degree in biology, sparked from a particular scuba dive when a juvenile sea turtle almost bit me on the nose. Seeing this magical little sea turtle fascinated me and I instantly knew that I wanted to do something that would help this ancient species and the ecosystem that they live in. Little did I know this would bring me into the fashion circle.
Pairing up with Imke, I believe her eye for design and my passion for the environment make us a pretty cool little team and believe the future of fashion should have both of these aspects incorporated.
